Description

This 911SC car has undergone major restoration prior to my ownership with some recent receipts to support – the most recent being the replacement of the expensive Heat Exchanges (2018) … there’s one off the bucket list, an air cooled 911 with a fully working heater!

Although not concourse if it was it would be selling for at least 50000 Euros It is Chrystal clear as soon as you drive it that it is a class motor and has obviously been extensively restored and well looked after and maintained. It is also a stunning looking car in an eye catching rare colour and internal colour combo. Not for shy people!

FUCH Wheels and/or a choice of CUP 2 Staggered wheels pick one or have both at additional cost (Approx. £1000 – they are worth much more)

V5C registered in my name John Reynolds and DVLA listing 13 previous owners – (below average for age)

Serviced – Interim service completed Nov/2018 (oil changed) tracking laser aligned
Current mileage - 119,549 (risen 20 120,093 as has been used) – Below average for age (verified by DVLA MOT history)
Colour – Rare Bright Yellow (117)

1981 204bhp - Only 1702 RHD Targa’s were ever produced making this quite a rare car. The car has been previously extensively restored apparently much of the work by Strauss Porsche, Leeds There are some previous MOTs and invoices, some very recent invoices (parts & labour) for – replacement of the heat exchangers, heat control valves (boxes), all new gaskets and hoses, clips and studs.
This model benefits from an additional ‘sports’ package with upgraded interior, sports seats, electric Ariel and a few other desirable Porsche features.

Despite the galvanized body, 911s of this vintage are susceptible to corrosion. Careful checking shows that all of the problem areas such as the front wings, the sills, and the ‘kidney bowls’ that sit at the rear of the sill behind each door opening, the floor pans including within the front luggage compartment are all new, heat exchangers and exhaust system have also all been replaced. The interior benefits from the original Factory ‘Sports Package’ and is finished in distinctive black and white leather.

The bumpers are firmly affixed with no signs of mountings rot. It is the ‘Sport’ model and has a factory rear spoiler fitted as standard – some aftermarket additions are fitted poorly.

The flat-six engine is bright and pulls like a train thru all gears and has obviously been maintained correctly with zero exhaust smoke on start-up nor otherwise , no signs of low oil pressure, zero oil leaks – not even a minor weep which are common for this age of 911. Timing chain tensioners have been replaced. The SC was fitted with the ‘915’ gearbox, and this has one has a firm change with no grinding with no signs of a tired clutch and feels more like the upgraded G50 box but I have no paperwork to prove this
Suspension is a combination of MacPherson-style struts at the front and semitrailing arms at the rear, with torsion bar springs at both ends. The struts are new as are the bushes and also, all brakes, discs, callipers and all brake lines - brakes and steering are new an 100% trouble-free. I have refitted the standard FUCHS Wheels. The CUPS are also an option either or or even both for an additional £1000.

It’s worth noting again! that the heating system works fine! – a rarity! The rotten (expensive) heat exchangers have been completely replaced only Dec 2019. The Targa roof is in decent condition and both removal roof keys are present although one has been modified (improved) as this was always a poor design.

I would value the car at an honest 35000-40000 Euros - Sensible offers or interesting Part Exchanges invited
